Jaki
Founder/Director
Qualifications - Accredited Canine First Aid Course
Jaki is extremely passionate about animals - throughout her life she has been surrounded by dogs, cats and horses and been actively involved in their wellbeing and care.
Having left school, Jaki studied photography whilst working part time to support her goal of saving to go travelling. Upon completion of her studies, she then spent a couple of years working and travelling across Australia, Thailand and New Zealand. On her return home, Jaki spent 5 years working in the charity sector for wonderful charities including Great Ormand Street Hospital, Guide Dogs and Dogs Trust. Although the role was extremely rewarding, she still yearned to spend more time hands on with her beloved canine friends.
In 2018, Jaki took the decision to set up Knox & Hound, a dog walking and care business, with a vision to provide the very best level of care and service to dogs and their owners. Five years on she is extremely proud and fortunate to have a loyal client base, many of which have been with her from the start. In the past year Jaki has bought on board Katie is a full-time walker and Dani supports as an additional pet sitting team member. Jaki has also added a second branded van to the fleet!
Katie
Dog Walker
Qualifications - Accredited Canine First Aid Course
BHS (British Horse Society) Stage 1 & 2 Exam accreditation
From an early age Katie wanted a career that involved horses or dogs. As a 16-year-old she worked part time at her local kennels, and following her studies and after passing her BHS exams she went on to work full time as a dog handler at several local catteries and kennels. Here her main duties included all aspects of dog handling, some training, working with guard dogs and grooming.
Katie then had a change of career and moved to the health sector, where she remained for 14 years. Her most recent role prior to joining Knox and Hound was as a Pharmacy Dispenser. Although extremely rewarding, Katie had the desire to return to a career with dogs and being outdoors. Katie joined Jaki as a Knox and Hound Dog Walker in May 2022, she is an experienced handler, is extremely organised, and has a naturally calm and caring demeanour.
In her spare time Katie can be found at the stables where she has her own horse Lena, or at home relaxing with her two cats Aurora and Cleo enjoying a good book.
Dani
Pet Sitter
Qualifications - Accredited Canine First Aid Course
Dani works for the NHS holding a vital and rewarding role supporting patients in residential care.
Dani is a naturally caring and nurturing individual and has been lucky enough to be surrounded by family cats and dogs all her life and is now the proud owner of her own pupster, Aston, a 12-year-old Staffie. Having known Jaki personally for over 20 years, Dani is a reliable and trustworthy individual and Knox and Hound are delighted to have her on board as a pet sitter.
In her spare time Danni enjoys switching off from work by spending time with friends, family, and of course, Aston.
